Municipal Hazard Tree Project

Whitby, ON 38 trees across 6 road allowances Municipality
Public road allowance with municipal trees requiring hazard assessment

Project Overview

A municipal public works department needed a batch of hazard trees flagged during a routine road-allowance inspection removed against a formal work order, across six separate road allowances.

The Challenge

The trees were spread across multiple sites with varying access — some directly on the shoulder of active roads, requiring traffic control, and others behind sidewalks near underground utilities that needed locates before any equipment moved in.

What We Did

Bucket truck

Chainsaws

Stump grinder

Traffic control signage

Safety Measures

Each site followed a documented traffic control plan before work began, with lane closures and signage set up per municipal standards. Utility locates were confirmed on file for every site prior to any ground disturbance.

Results

All 38 hazard trees were removed and stump-ground across the 6 sites within the work order's completion window, with a full photo report delivered to the public works department for their files.
